The city of Warrenville is prepared to give $4.3 million to the park district to build an indoor recreation center.

But an alderman wants voters to have a say on whether that's the right step for the city.

Alderman Linda Spicer is collecting signatures to have an advisory referendum placed on the Nov. 2 election ballot.

Spicer, a vocal critic of the plan, said she wouldn't be pushing for the ballot question if the park district could fund the project on its own....
