Tired of seeing studies that rank Mississippi near the bottom? Then check out how the state is faring with electronic government. The state's portal, www.mississippi.gov, was ranked fifth in the country by the Center for Digital Government (www.centerdigitalgov.com) in October of 2002.
Sites for the Best of the Web contest were judged on innovation, the use of Web-based online technology to deliver government or education services, efficiency or time saved, economy, ease of use and the ability for the public to participate.
