JACKSON -- Last fall Mississippians for Economic Progress (MFEP) saw lawmakers pass medical malpractice reforms and general civil justice reforms during the record 83-day special session.

Now with the help of MFEP's new executive director Steven P. Browning, the group of more than 50 businesses and professional associations, as well as individual businesses and citizens, hopes to see more done in the way of civil justice reform. MEEP's next step is to work with legislators and with the legislative leadership in crafting legislation that will create a legal environment that is fair to businesses, economic development and job creation.
