The 58th Session of the Human Rights Commission in Geneva this year (18 March - 26 April) followed a different pattern of politics.

Various items in its diverse agenda were consolidated in order to save the time of the delegates. This seriously impeded the NGO community, which wished to discuss human rights violations in more than a hundred countries. Many did not have an opportunity to speak after having worked hard at national level and having travelled long distances on thin resources.
