SYDNEY, March 6 Asia Pulse - The Australian Gas Light Company (ASX:AGL) has reported a 129.9 per cent jump in net profit to $A190.6 million ($US117.31 million) in the first half, with the result boosted by its purchase of Victorian state energy retailer Pulse Energy.

Analysts said the result was ahead of expectations and that Australia's largest power and gas retailer performed strongly across its operations.
