Win? Oregon felt like there was no alternative.

`We feel like we have to,' Brian Helquist said. `We have to get this weekend.'

For 20 wins. For a winning record in the Pac-10. For some assurance that the Ducks will make a repeat trip to the NCAA Tournament.

So losing Thursday to USC wasn't an option.

`The coaches and the rest of us think this is the biggest weekend at home we've had in a long time,' Robert Johnson said.

The Ducks are then halfway home, with a 79-66 comeback victory over the Trojans on Thursday night in a sold-out McArthur Court putting them at 19-7 overall and 9-6 in the conference, the latter worth a share of fourth place.

This was about as much of a turnaround as there can be from the first meeting, when USC (10-14, 5-10) dominated the Ducks inside and took advantage of 26 Oregon turnovers for a victory in Los Angeles.

In the rematch, Oregon had one more rebound than the Trojans and even one more blocked shot.
