LOS ANGELES - In the fall of 2000, Andrea Bills announced her decision to enroll at Oregon and play basketball for the then-defending Pac-10 Conference women's basketball champion.

Bills was one player in a recruiting class that was six members strong, a catch for the Ducks that was considered among the best in the nation.

But what a ride it has been since.

Oregon fell from first to fourth place in the Pac-10 as Bills completed her high school senior season at Moreno Valley, Calif. The Ducks finished with a 17-12 record, the most losses in a single season since they lost 18 in 1992-93.

And the coach, Jody Runge, resigned under pressure that was fueled by the players' request that she be replaced.

Last season, the first player - Catherria Turner - of that remarkable recruiting class left the team. And while Oregon would win the Women's National Invitation Tournament, it also...
