NEW YORK -- NEW YORK, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The three Dan David Prize Final Nominees for the 2003 Dan David Prize for the Past Time Dimension in the field of Paleoanthropology were announced today: Michel Brunet, David Lordkipanidze and Steve Weiner. One of them will be awarded the coveted $1 million prize.

For the second year, the Dan David Prize will award three prizes of $1 million each, to an individual or institution recognized for outstanding achievement in a specific field of activity, chosen within each of the three time dimensions: Past, Present and Future. The fields for the 2003 Dan David Prize are Paleoanthropology for the Past, Print & Electronic Media for the Present, and Cosmology & Astronomy for the Future.

The announcement of the Dan David Prize Final Nominees for the Future Time Dimension will be made on March 4th and for the Present Time Dimension on March 6th.
