LOS ANGELES - Oregon found all kinds of things Thursday night.
The glove that Luke Jackson needed to protect his injured finger was located in a trash can after being misplaced for a few hours. The Ducks discovered during the game that they can play without Luke Ridnour, who was saddled with a fourth foul early in the second half.
Oregon even located an inside game with freshman Ian Crosswhite, who put up season highs of 22 points and 12 rebounds, including seven points in overtime when the Ducks finally overcame UCLA, 96-91, before 9,008 in Pauley Pavilion.
`We always talk about breaking a team. It just took us 42 or 43 minutes before UCLA finally broke,' UO coach Ernie Kent said. `We got the lead, got the free throws and had a couple of key defensive stops.'
The last of those came with about 15 seconds left, with Oregon up 94-91. Dijon Thompson tried to pump fake UO defenders into the air for a possible three-point try, but while he was going up with the basketball, Jackson put a hand in and the Ducks regained possession.
`I just tried to tip it away,' said Jackson, who led the Ducks with 27 points.
