Arts and Humanities in Higher Education serves an international community of arts and humanities educators by publishing opinion and critical research into contemporary issues of teaching and learning within the domain. The journal seeks to stimulate debate and promote reconceptualization of arts and humanities disciplines in ways that reflect, and reflect upon, teaching. Topics include policy, inquiry, curriculum and assessment, new modes of scholarship and course delivery, the interface between research and teaching, and the transformational purposes of a higher education. The journal eschews purely descriptive accounts of data collection or uncritical reports of teaching and course delivery methods. Contributors come from several specialized and interdisciplinary areas in the arts and humanities in higher education and from adjacent and related fields such as sociology, politics, and education. Most are from the United Kingdom, but the journal features authors from other English-speaking countries.

The first issue, available as an online sample copy, features scholarly articles averaging fifteen pages, accompanied by abstracts and detailed bibliographies.
