Van Essche was speaking at a meeting at Bandag's European base at Zaventem, Brussels, 23 June, at which the group reported on the progress made in rolling the Eurofleet concept out to the tyre dealers and fleet operators across Europe.
Bandag wants to be one of the global leaders in the tyre replacement market. "We have started delivering this vision via Eurofleet and other fleet programmes," van Essche said.
As well as its basic high-quality precured retread system, offered via franchised dealers, Bandag recognised the need to offer retreads as part of a total tyre supply concept to major transport fleet operators in Europe.
