Leland Ancier knows how difficult it is raising a child, especially one who has attention deficit disorder.

As a result of his son's treatment at a residential care center, and continuing the structure imparted there, Ancier, who now lives in San Diego, developed a software program he says can be used by all parents in raising their children.

"It was designed for children who had advanced behavior problems but it turns out to be a system that all kids can benefit from," Ancier said.

The behavior modification system at the residential treatment center his son attended uses the concept of awarding points for meeting prescribed goals, and subtracting points for not attaining goals or for unacceptable behavior.

As a child earns points, he is promoted to different levels of enjoying more privileges.
