Democrat voting for Pierpoint

I am writing this letter as a longtime friend and associate of Gary Pierpoint, who is running for the District 13 seat in the Oregon House of Representatives. I am a Democrat. I am not supporting Pierpoint the Republican. I am supporting Pierpoint the person - a person with strong community ties, moral and ethical values, and the kind of person we all can trust to represent us in Salem.

I know Pierpoint well. I worked with him when he was chair of the Lane Regional Workforce Quality Committee and when he was the chair of Networking for Youth. He exudes the values of caring and persistence. He enjoys and is quite good at working with coalitions of diverse people with diverse opinions to forge consensus around critical social problems. He has a business background, and a keen understanding of how to get things done and make things work.

This is one of the rare instances that I would not vote my party line, but Pierpoint is not your normal kind of candidate. He has been giving to our community virtually all his adult life. He truly has earned and deserves our trust and confidence. Please help him get to Salem. We'll all be the better for it.
