Spy Optic, Inc., a sunglass and goggle maker with $27 million in annual sales, is going public as part of a plan to grow with Generation Y.

The Carlsbad company described plans for a $21 million initial public offering in a statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Sept. 15. Still to be determined is a date the stock will start trading, the number of shares to be offered, the share price, and Spy's Nasdaq ticker symbol.
