If you're a lawyer, you're almost certain a writer and using a computer to generate your written output. Most lawyers seem to be using Microsoft Word. I've previously written about OpenOffice, an open source suite of office tools similar to those sold in Microsoft Office, and file compatible with the Microsoft Products. Although these programs are not perfect substitutes for the Microsoft Office Suite, they do work, and they cost nothing. (Download from www.openopffice.org)
