I wasn't impressed when I began to hear and see very positive things about a program called ActiveWords. What did it do that was so great? It let the computer user ignore the Microsoft Windows Graphic User Interface, the Mouse, the pulldown menus, the toolbar icons, and actually control and computer and computer programs by typing a command and hitting a command key, just as if Windows weren't there, and the user was back in the 80s, dealing with MS-DOS's Command Line Interface (CLI).
Then I got a call about a really free license for the smaller limited version of the program, ActiveWords SE, and decided to take a look. The reports of what the program can do were correct, as far as they went, but it turned out that these reports left out a lot of things, such as converting plain language task descriptions into ABA Litigation Billing Codes. This was something that might be a big help to lawyers looking to get paid, so I decided to take a close look. I'm glad I did.
