The Magic of snow: when we were children we were told that there was magic in the very first snowfall of the year and that if we were to build a snowman with this first snow, he would come to life. This past March, I saw a different kind of magic in the snow. (Adapted Skiing).

My husband, Jerry, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in September 1969, and over the last 33 years I have watched the disease progress. At first, Jerry walked clumsily. Then, after ten years, he began using a cane; after twenty years he needed a wheelchair. Throughout this time, I've continually tried to find ways to make his life easier and as normal as possible.

About a year ago, two very good friends of ours, Pat and Pat De Pinto (simply known as "the Pats"), told us about the United States Adaptive Recreation Center (ARC) in Big Bear Lake, California. They explained that Big Bear Mountain Resort has skiing and snowboarding for people with disabilities.
