North American-based AgCert and ITOCHU Corporation of Japan have signed an agreement for ITOCHU to market AgCert's greenhouse gas emission reductions, which are designed to help organizations and countries reduce global warming.

Under the agreement, ITOCHU, one of the world's largest trading companies, initially markets up to five million tons of AgCert's carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emission reductions in Japan. ITOCHU markets emission reductions derived from projects in Canada, Brazil and Mexico that are consistent with the Kyoto Protocol.
