Misonix Reports First Quarter Fiscal 2003 Results; Revenue and Earnings Increase Over Prior Year Results.

Misonix, Inc. (Nasdaq:MSON) today reported financial results for the three months ended September 30, 2002. Highlights for the first three months of fiscal 2003 include:

-- Misonix has started the production and marketing plan to begin the launch of the Hearing Innovations HiSonic TRD device -- Focus Surgery started to ship the SB-500, for the treatment of enlarged prostate and prostate cancer, to Europe under the Endocare distribution agreement -- We began new sales of the Lysonix 2000 units for soft tissue aspiration, used predominately for cosmetic surgery -- Medical device sales were up 16% to $3.2 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2003 from $2.7 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2002 -- Focus Surgery successfully treated 14 patients in its Phase I Prostate Cancer clinical trial at Indiana University -- Focus Surgery continues to successfully treat patients in Japan for prostate cancer -- WABC News aired a brief segment on August 26, 2002, which centered around one patient that was successfully treated by Dr. Koch using the SB-500 Focus Surgery device at Indiana University utilizing High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)
