I have this crazy idea for Gov.-elect Rod Blagojevich.

Instead of spending $75 million to buy land for an airport at Peotone, use some of the millions to help the depressed area south of Chicago.

Rescue schools that are near bankruptcy. Start a major job- training program. Provide health care for the thousands of uninsured.

James Meeks, a new state senator from Chicago's South Side, has joined Congressmen Jesse Jackson Jr. and Bobby Rush and others to demand that the new governor spend $75 million to buy land for the airport.
