Doug Crusan, 1972 Super Bowl champion ring adorning his right hand, doesn't flinch as he looks at the stock market ticker flashing across his desktop computer. It's not that he hasn't heard the howling from Wall Street to Silicon Valley or fielded calls from nervous--even angry--clients at his Keystone at the Crossing office at Broderick Rocke & Smith Inc.

But Crusan, who has worked as an investment adviser in Indianapolis since 1995, is no stranger to potentially paralyzing pressure and seemingly impossible odds.

Before donning a suit and tie, Crusan had a magical football career filled with fairy tales that no one has been able to repeat since. He anchored the defensive line and was captain of Indiana University's only Rose Bowl team, in 1967-68.
