PHILADELPHIA, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- PECO Energy and its parent, Exelon Corporation, have registered more than 600 minority and women-owned suppliers as part of an expanded diversity initiative during the past year.

The utility company has sponsored numerous supplier fairs and workshops during the last year, and its procurement specialists have aimed to provide guidance to small firms that may qualify for certification as minority and women-owned business enterprises (MWBE).

The MWBE firms represent 46 percent of all registered suppliers with Exelon's Supply organization via its Internet Web site, http://www.exeloncorp.com/. The various firms provide everything from janitorial, training and business consulting...
