May wisdom and love guide the nation

At the historic congressional service held Sept. 6 in the New York City Federal Building, Chaplain Daniel Coughlin, in his invocation spoke of healing wounds and rebuilding lives. Intertwined in his remarks was a reference to the observance of the Jewish High Holy Day of Rosh Hashana, the first day of which was to begin the evening of Sept. 6. In this regard, the chaplain's prayer was that we join our Jewish brothers and sisters in seeking the sweetness and good symbolized in the Jewish High Holy Day period.
