USANA Announces Sales and Earnings Jump in the Second Quarter.

USANA Health Sciences Inc. (Nasdaq:USNA) today announced second quarter results that exceeded expectations.

Sales for the second quarter ended June 29, 2002, were $32.1 million, an increase of 12.1% over the $28.6 million reported for the second quarter of 2001. Earnings per share increased 220.0% from $0.05 in the second quarter of 2001 to $0.16 in the second quarter of 2002.

Sales for the six months ended June 29, 2002, were $60.7 million, an increase of 8.0% over sales of $56.2 million reported during the first half of 2001. Earnings per share increased 180.0% from $0.10 in the first half of 2001 to $0.28 during the first half of 2002.
