The Palatine Park District is working on a plan to commemorate the 50-year anniversary of organized baseball in Palatine. The idea was suggested Tuesday by park Commissioner Sue Gould, whose father, Elvis "Moose" Foster, was the first president of the Palatine Little League. The first organized league began in 1953 with just a few teams. "It was started by a group of guys who just wanted a league for their kids to play in," Gould said.
