NEW YORK - The Michigan lead over Oregon was 25 points, and only 3:22 remained in the semifinal game Tuesday night.

Out came Luke Jackson, after 1,970 points, 746 rebounds, 424 assists and four years of the best basketball a Duck has ever played.

`He leaves footprints and a legacy for this program that may never be matched,' UO coach Ernie Kent said.

Slumped on a chair in the UO dressing room after Michigan's 78-53 defeat of the Ducks, microphones in front of him and reporters gathered around him, Jackson didn't seem too mindful of what he'd done. More what the Ducks hadn't done in suffering their worst defeat of the season.

`All season long we'd fought so hard ...,' Jackson said, his voice trailing off. `I hate losing so much.'
