Pedestrian bridge must be built now

In 1993, 12-year-old Lori Beth Most was killed by a train while crossing the tracks behind Monroe Middle School in Wheaton. Wheaton officials responded by planning construction of a pedestrian bridge over the tracks. Eleven years later, they are still planning.

Wheaton Park District officials and Wheaton Warrenville School District 200 officials agree they should build a bridge. As reported in the Daily Herald, $1.9 million has been awarded to the Wheaton Park District for construction of the bridge. So when will construction begin?
