WASHINGTON -- Are you saving enough for your financial future? The 2002 Retirement Confidence Survey (RCS) found that 70 percent of those now saving say that they could save an additional $20 per week, as did 62 percent of those who are not saving. If you save $20 per week for 10 years, it will add up to $10,400. Assuming a 4 percent annual rate of return, the total increases to $12,762 in 10 years. This shows how even small sums saved regularly can add up to a considerable amount with the advantage of compound interest.
