Ryan Anetsberger Glenbard West

The lone sophomore selected to this year's team, Anetsberger is already a two-year starting shortstop who helped lead the Hilltoppers to their first sectional title. The No. 3 hitter in the order, he's led the team in RBI the last two years. Heading into the supersectional game, the all-West Suburban Silver pick hit .402 with 33 runs scored and 27 RBI. "He's a real go-to guy," coach Jim Fornaciari said. "It's nice to know we'll have him there for four years."

Dan Brauer Wheaton Warrenville South

A dominant pitcher for three years, Brauer will take his game to Northwestern University. While he didn't match last year's mark of no earned runs, the senior lefty and unanimous all-DuPage Valley pick posted a 0.89 ERA with a 6-3 record in 55 innings. Brauer used a sharp fastball and an explosive curve to notch 91 strikeouts against 23 walks. He also hit .307 with 18 RBI. "He's a kid who obviously got better as the year went along," coach Joe Kish said.

Mike Christl Waubonsie Valley

The Warriors' junior right-handed ace has lost just one game in two varsity seasons. With tremendous poise, Christl went 7-1 with a 2.26 ERA in 65 innings, posting 70 strikeouts and 25 walks. The all-Upstate Eight selection beat six different conference teams, including a 1-0 win over champion St. Charles East. Christl batted .366 with 27 runs scored and a .516 slugging percentage. "In tight jams, Mike always makes pitches," coach Dan Fezzuoglio said.
