I ALWAYS STEAL a march on my wife by "borrowing" her copy of The Women's Quarterly as soon as it hits the mailbox. I was taken with Charlotte Hays' Diary "Better Red than Dead," [TWQ 26] in which she tells how she became a conservative. There is nothing finer than a conversion experience, be it slow or suddenly on the road to Damascus. The beauty of it is that one can look back at oneself and chuckle.
