Founded in 1991 by Fred P. Lampropoulos and Manny Rossell, Merit Sensor Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Merit Medical Systems, Inc. (South Jordan, UT, 801-253-1600)(Nasdaq: MMSI)(www.merit.com), manufactures high-yield products, including silicon piezoresistive pressure sensors, custom micro machined microstructures, and ceramic hybrid assemblies. Merit Sensor's founders have established a track record of launching and cultivating the growth of companies.

Lampropoulos has considerable experience in founding successful companies in the medical device industry, including Merit Medical Systems and Utah Medical Products. Rossell was a co-founder of IC Sensors, Inc. (Milpitas, CA) in 1982. IC Sensors, now part of Measurement Specialties (Fairfield, NJ), uses silicon micro machining technology to manufacture such products as pressure sensors, accelerometers, and custom silicon microstructures.
