TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 2002

Nelson Resources Limited (NLG: TSE) announced today that 50%-owned Kazakhoil Aktobe has signed an agreement with KazTransOil (KTO) for the construction of an export pipeline from Alibekmola in western Kazakhstan. At first stage, the pipeline will connect the Alibekmola oilfield to the Kenkiyak-Orsk pipeline and later, construction of the Kenkiyak-Atyrau pipeline, would allow Kazakhoil Aktobe to negotiate access to existing pipelines from Atyrau to export locations. This network of pipelines would, when completed, facilitate access to world markets for Nelson's crude oil.
