CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 2002

Southwest Community Bank (OTCBB:SWCT) reported that consolidated earnings for the first quarter increased by 80% to $336,000 or $0.41 per common share on a fully diluted basis compared with $187,000 or $0.23 per diluted share for the first quarter of 2000.

Pre-tax income for the quarter rose by 117% to $481,000 in 2002 period from $222,000 for the first quarter of 2001.
