SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Endovenous radiofrequency obliteration of saphenous vein reflux (the Closure procedure) is associated with shorter recuperation time, less post-operative pain, faster return to normal activities, and shorter sick leaves compared to traditional vein stripping surgery according to a report in the May issue of the Journal of Vascular Surgery. This randomized trial is the first to compare endovenous obliteration of saphenous vein reflux to traditional vein stripping in the treatment of primary varicose veins.
