Article Excerpt HARRISBURG, Pa. -- On behalf of Pennsylvania Gov. Mark Schweiker, Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Secretary Sam McCullough today concluded his six-day "DCED-on-the-Road ... Again" tour of Pennsylvania with several stops in the seven-county Southcentral region.
"What a great trip this has been to see communities all across Pennsylvania thriving with new economic-development projects that are bringing a brighter future to our citizens!" Secretary McCullough said. "We visited 20 counties and hosted 67 meetings and activities -- helping to create jobs, revitalize communities and strengthen the Commonwealth's workforce in our continued effort to make Pennsylvania a great place to live, work and raise a family.
"The 'DCED on the Road ... Again' initiative took state government to the people we serve. You told us what you needed to make your communities prosperous, and we responded."
Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, Perry and York counties make up the Southcentral region designated by Team Pennsylvania, a partnership comprised of state government, businesses and local economic-development professionals working together to create and retain jobs.
Secretary McCullough started the final leg of "DCED-on-the-Road ... Again" at the Comfort Suites in Carlisle, Cumberland County, with a breakfast and town-hall...
