If Libertyville wants to successfully defend its North Suburban Conference title of a year ago, there is little room for error from here on out.

The Wildcats went 7-3 in Lake Division play last season and still won the title. But as of Wednesday, they had already lost three games and still had six to play.

"Basically, we're going to have to win six games in a row and hope that some other teams help us out and beat some of the teams in front of us," said Libertyville coach Jim Panther, whose squad is 14-3 overall. "It concerns us that we're going to have to run the table but I think we're up for it. We've shown that we can play very well."

Even in their losses - all of which have come by just 1 run, the Wildcats have been not only competitive but also in a position to win.
