Tollway officials will consider phasing in a toll increase, among other options, despite calls Thursday for them to hold off any price hike until next year.

The tollway board took no action Thursday on its proposal to raise mainline tolls to 75 cents. Board members were originally expected to make the change as early as this month but held off following protests by state lawmakers and Gov. George Ryan.
