Two Kane County Board imcumbents lost in Tuesday's primary, leading some to believe issues in their districts may have hurt their chances with the voters.

In the 23rd District, Carpentersville Trustee John Noverini beat two-term incumbent Don Rage, a Sleepy Hollow Republican, with a comfortable 54 percent to 46 percent of the unofficial vote total.

Kane County Board President Mike McCoy credited the Bolz Road bridge issue as an important reason for Rage's defeat.

Rage has been a longtime supporter of the Bolz Road bridge and Longmeadow Parkway, while Noverini has spoken against it, saying a village bridge is needed instead.
