Fiati is a group dedicated to performing works with oboe, clarinet, and other instruments. This is a very unusual recital, not only for the skewed instrumentation, but also the oddball works. The sound is clear, if somewhat closed in, and the players are very fine, obviously comfortable with themselves as a group and with the music.

The Prokofieff (for oboe, clarinet, violin, viola, and bass) is taken from an early ballet called Trapeze. It has lots of Stravinskian rhythms...
