Parker named to top job at Health Alliance Plan

Francine Parker is the new president and CEO of Health Alliance Plan in Detroit after more than two decades of working for the health maintenance organization.

Henry Ford Health System's board named Parker to the top job at HAP and also named her senior vice president of insurance and purchaser relations for the health system.

"To say I'm thrilled is an understatement,'' Parker said. "When I started at HAP 26 years ago, there were only 14 of us. To go from an organization of 14 to over 900 people serving 540,000 members is remarkable.''

Parker said her top priority is to continue working on the quality initiatives the health plan has started and to begin an earnest dialogue with purchasers and vendors.
