PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local AL-ROSTAMANI REAL ESTATE CO. recently awarded a construction contract for a new high-rise residential tower to an Emirates joint venture. The partners in the planned undertaking include ARAB TECHNICAL CONSTRUCTION CO. (ARABTEC) and AL-ROSTAMANI PEGEL.

According to the terms of the award, the partnership will be responsible for building a: - 53-storey tower including a basement and ground floor with a

total built-up area of some 72,500 square meters. The facility

will incorporate 400 2- and 3-bedroom apartments as well as a

swimming pool installed on the roof; - 9-storey car parking facility.

The cost to build the complex has been pegged at $41,000,000. And, project completion is scheduled for some time during the 3rd quarter of the year 2003. In addition, ARABTEC has now started to work on a $19,000,000 contract for the extension and refurbishment of the Abu Dhabi Sheraton hotel.
