"This guy is the best!" exclaimed Aaron. He watched the TV screen as his latest NBA hero made a basket. Aaron had admired several players, but he always felt let down when they made mistakes. This time he knew he wouldn't be disappointed.

Lisha

When Lisha slammed two serves into the net, she hurled her tennis racket across the court and screamed, "That's it. I quit!"

"You always have a tantrum when you goof up," said her friend Cass. "Just because some tennis star got away with it at a match doesn't mean it's the way to improve your game."

Neither Aaron nor Lisha understands the qualities of a good role model. Aaron is searching for a famous athlete to admire, but that someone must be perfect. Aaron is setting himself up for disappointment, because sports stars make mistakes just like the rest of us.
