Article Excerpt In less than three months, the Mississippi Commission on International Cultural Exchange (MCICE) will unveil The Glory of Baroque Dresden at the Mississippi Arts Pavilion in downtown Jackson.
The international exhibition, which has been three years in the making, will open March 1 for a six-month run exclusively in the Capitol City. Seniors, age 60 and over, will once again account for more than half of all adult ticket sales.
They will undoubtedly be impressed perusing the riches of Augustus the Strong, collected during his reign as Elector of Saxony and King of Poland from 1694 to 1733, as they were with The Palaces of St. Petersburg, Splendors of Versailles and The Majesty of Spain international exhibitions in 1996, 1998 and 2001, respectively. All total, MCICE executive director Jack Kyle has been instrumental in bringing more than one million visitors to Jackson, and many seniors have been so impressed with Mississippi that they decided to move here.
