STANFORD, Calif. - Oregon very nearly beat California on Saturday despite shooting 36.1 percent.

The Bears, after all, shot only 37 percent themselves. As much as UO coach Bev Smith was concerned with the Ducks' poor shooting in their Pac-10 Conference opener, she was also displeased with a minus-10 rebounding margin that included 15 offensive boards by the Bears.

Correcting that will be a major focus when the Ducks take on No. 9 Stanford at 7 p.m. today in women's basketball at Maples Pavilion.
