For its first San Diego County office development, Los Angeles-based Lows Enterprises is betting on Carlsbad with a three-story, 75,000-square-foot Class A building called Ocean Ridge.

Construction began June 22 on the last entitled vacant lot left in the Carlsbad Ranch business park. Lowe acquired the 3.79-acre site at 5796 Armada Drive in 2001.

Lowe Enterprises Senior Vice President Mike McNerney declined to reveal the construction cost.
