Yes, things were very hot (104 [degrees] F +) but exceptionally lively in Las Vegas in early June. And the hottest industry action took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center during the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association's 39th Annual Seminar & Expo.

"We hit the jackpot in Las Vegas," said Carol L. Christison, IDDBA executive director, and Lucie Arendt, IDDBA director of membership, registration exhibits, and MIS. "In fact, we broke all of the records--including the temperature."

Approximately 2,000 retailers (up from a little more than 1,300 at last year's show) had an opportunity to review and sample 800 new products (up from 600 last year)--many of which were upscale meat and poultry deli products.

Being unique

Deli meat and poultry product exhibits were available in a variety of flavors and sizes. All processors were trying a variety of flavors and sizes.
