Recently, there have been articles in both The Register-Guard (`Eugene school chief opposes law rollback,' Nov. 22) and The Oregonian about my stance on the federal No Child Left Behind Act. To help clarify where I stand with regard to the act, I thought it would be beneficial to share the comments I made to staff members at the district's back-to-school event on Aug. 29.
