Article Excerpt Although this Journal has recently won a readability award, we are still working to make it welcoming and easy to read. Though some papers are of course technical, and others can be conceptually complex, we aim to make the text as friendly as possible, consistent with providing the necessary information. However, we can only do a certain amount with the text we receive, and perhaps you, our contributors, can also help. Here are some hints and ideas on presenting written papers, inspired by useful pieces from two other publications. (1) Although some of these are worded in the imperative, they are, of course, advisory rather than compulsory. We hope you find them of interest. They are followed by a description of the papers in this issue.
* We welcome contributions from practitioners as well as academics. A 'scholarly' style is far from being essential and may well make your paper...
