When a basketball team calls two timeouts in the first quarter, one would figure the ship is sinking fast and the opponent is burying that team.

Neuqua Valley's second break came with 2:27 left in the first quarter and the Wildcats trailing 17-12 to Larkin on Saturday in the fifth-place game of the Battle of the Burbs Tournament. The Royals had just come close to earning a five-second call as Neuqua Valley tried to inbound the ball.

It's not known what Neuqua Valley coach Todd Sutton exactly said during that timeout, but something worked. The Wildcats outscored Larkin 29-9 to end the half on their way to a 69-51 victory.
