What impact will the high-profile Supreme Court case involving mutual fund fees have on individual investors?

Not much, according to experts.

The Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the case, Jones vs. Harris Associates, on Monday. A decision is expected in June.

The case has gotten a lot of attention because the high court rarely hears mutual fund cases and fees are a hot-button issue. But even if it rules in favor of shareholders who say they were overcharged, the decision is not likely to result in widespread fee reductions.

"I don't think investors are going to get any relief out of this, ultimately," says Jay Gould, an attorney with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman who represents fund companies.
